The 5K AIDS/Cancer Run/Walk

Several  people in the United States kept asking what we were doing for people living with HIV/AIDS and cancer in America. We realized if the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation were to succeed we needed to organize Events in America. Since 2008, the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation has sponsored eight 5K AIDS/Cancer Run/Walks and five FREE 5K Run/Walks for HIVers, Cancer Survivors & Friends. We also do not charge people living with HIV/AIDS or cancer if they cannot afford the $22 – $25 registration fee.

For 2015, the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation sponsored its eighth annual 5K AIDS/Cancer Run/Walk in America. The Brodsky Foundation donated $3,350 to the following organizations: Center of AIDS Research & Treatment at North Shore University Hospital and its Client Advisory Board, Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, Hewlett House, Five Towns Community AIDS Service Program, & Angels on the Bay. The Brodsky Foundation also donated $27,000 in toys & clothing to Abbey Lane Elementary School, Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, Five Towns Community Center, Five Towns Early Learning Center, Hewlett House, Living Hope Fellowship, Ronald McDonald House, St. John's Episcopal Hospital, & St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital.

Thank you to our sponsored & volunteers.Congratulations to the 202 finishers. The combined total of toys, clothing and cash was $30,350. This was not just a race. Each runner was part of a movement that raised $150+ per runner/walker.
